a life to remember
We started this tournament as a way to honor a beloved son, brother, friend and soldier. In addition to giving us purpose and some healing, we wanted to fund a memorial scholarship and donate to veterans suffering from PTSD and depression to make a difference for people like Austin.
Austin not only excelled in his career but also had an incredible soul. He touched the lives of so many with how hard he loved and showed up for people. He taught us how to love the unlovable and care for others before ourselves. His sense of humor, loyalty and heart is what he will always be remembered for by those who knew and loved him.
This tournament is a way to celebrate his life, while also raising money for veterans and other young men and women just like him – people who dedicate their lives to protecting others. Austin not only loved golf and played in high school, but also worked for a few courses throughout his life, including Windermere Golf Club, where the tournament is held each year.
We hope friends, family and supporters will join us each year for the annual 1LT Austin Shilling Memorial Golf Tournament and celebrate our favorite guy. Thank you for your support.
